Investing in our students

The Smyrna High School Band program at Smyrna High School in Smyrna, TN has a rich and long-standing history of musical excellence. The program's mission is to develop individual student musicianship while providing quality public performances from all our musical ensembles.  

Yearly performances include: band concerts in the fall and spring, providing entertaining half-time shows at football games, energizing the crowds with the pep band, and the jazz band's annual performance at JazzFest in Murfreesboro each May.

The Smyrna High Band has received many honors and awards throughout the years, both at Marching Competitions and at Concert Festivals. Notable past honors include: invitations to play at Disney World, Music Showcase at Six Flags Over Georgia, and the Outback Bowl Parade. 

And some of our most recent accomplishments include the TMEA Sweepstakes Award in 2018, having received Superior Ratings in both Marching Band and Concert Band, and the Marching Band was named Grand Champions of the 2017 Pulaski Classic Marching Contest. In 2025, at the Pulaski Classic, the Smyrna marching band received 1st place band, 1st place color guard, 1st place percussion, and best overall percussion award
